Zakovitch ’00 was a member of the men’s cross country team from 1997-99. He was named co-MVP in 1997 and was the lone MVP in 1998 and earned All-Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (now Colonial States Athletic Conference) honors all three years. In 1997 and 1998, Zakovitch was named All-PAC (prior to First and Second team). In 1999, he was named First Team All-Conference.
Originally from Union City, Zakovitch won the individual PAC championship in 1998 in a time of 28:09, while finishing in third place in both 1997 and 1999. During all three years, the Pacers finished as conference runner-up as a team. In 1997, Zakovitch placed 97th at the NCAA regionals. He also set the Marywood school course record in 1998 and currently holds the 39th and 42nd fastest times in school history.
After earning a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Marywood in 2000, Zakovitch went on to earn a Master’s degree in Administration of Justice from Mercyhurst College in 2002. Currently employed at Keystone Human Services as a Behavioral Health Specialist working with adults with autism, Zakovitch is married to Erin Moran (’99, ’01) and has five children (Julia, Jack, twins Ella and William, and Vivian). They currently reside in Hershey.
