Ellen Sweeney, a graduate of the Class of 1983 at Marywood, was a two-sport standout in tennis and basketball. On the tennis court, Ellen compiled an impressive 40-9 singles record while playing out of the number one position in the lineup.

She also played first doubles for the Pacers, and helped lead the squad to a number 20 national ranking and a bid to compete in the AIAW National Tournament during the 1982 season.

In basketball, Ellen was the starting point guard for four seasons. She recorded 614 points, 353 assists, and 209 steals during her career.
